CARON
Caron Compactor Company was founded in the late 1960's after founder Fred Caron developed a self-propelled, steel-wheeled soil and landfill compactor which was later sold to a predecessor of CMI (Rexworks). From soil to landfills, Mr. Caron brought his knowledge of the dynamics of compaction to the solid waste disposal industry. Although Fred Caron passed away in 1980, his legacy lives on as the Company grew with his son Jim Caron as president and CEO, later to be joined by his wife Judy as Vice President of Administration.
Caron Compactor is recognized throughout the world as an industry leader due to the introduction of compaction wheels with high-alloy, field replaceable, "pin-on" wheel caps. Caron wheels with Pin-On Teeth are today marketed internationally on a full range of landfill compactors including Al Jon, Bomag, Caterpillar, Komatsu and Rexworks (CMI). Other landfill products followed, such as the Caron Transfer Station Wheel, vital axle and final drive guarding, as well as specialized track shoes for both landfill and transfer station applications.
As a leading innovator in the solid waste industry, Caron Compactor has continually provided quality equipment and services for over 36 years. This commitment to the specialized needs of our customers has helped make Caron a well respected and highly recognized landfill products company.
